Collaboration between Happy Scholar, Up with Community on Zanzibar, and the Heeren van Haaster Foundation in the Netherlands.

Thanks to a generous donation from the Heeren van Haaster Foundation, twenty-five children from very poor families can attend school.

Even though the government school is free for children, the cost of purchasing a uniform, shoes, notebooks, and pencils can sometimes be too high for the poorest families, especially when more than one child from one family needs to attend. Some parents are then forced to choose not to send all the children in the family to school, simply because they can't afford it.

The Up with Community Foundation, founded by passionate teachers from the island, is committed to providing quality education, including for the very poorest.
In addition to school supplies, twenty-five families also received a substantial amount of rice, flour, and oil.
A wonderful initiative with a direct impact!
